The Main Series is a series of oil works that Pola Dwurnik has been working on since 2004. It includes a wide variety of paintings, but the main theme is a female subject. The main protagonist is almost always a woman, often reminiscent of the artist herself. We see her in different situations and roles. Within the Main Series, smaller sub-series can be distinguished (e.g., the “Self-Portrait with a Lover and a Cigarette”) and recurring motifs (such as the Queen of Painting or animal figures).
