Heads Series

The Heads Series was inspired by Wawel Heads from around 1540 – wooden sculptures decorating the ceiling of the Envoy’s Room at Royal Castle in Cracow. The authors, Sebastian Tauerbach and Hans Snycerz created a true masterpiece - a series of individualistic, intriguing, moving characters, expressive and very modern.

A human face is the most powerful image that exists in the world - a platform for communication, manipulation and revelation. Pola Dwurnik is interested in the tension between the inner emotional life and the external image of the face.

The Heads Series is dedicated mostly to women and refers to the history of the woman's portrait.
